HOMEGOINGHQ — DISCLAIMERS & FAMILY/USER ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Last Updated: July 18, 2026 | Version: 1.0
PART A — STANDING DISCLAIMERS (public-facing; also surfaced in-context)
A-1. General Information / No Professional Advice
HomegoingHQ provides general educational information and organizational tools. It is not a law firm, funeral home, insurer, financial advisor, tax advisor, medical provider, or grief-counseling practice, and provides no legal, financial, tax, insurance, medical, or professional advice. Information (including AI output) is not a substitute for advice from a qualified, licensed professional in your jurisdiction.
A-2. Legal Information Disclaimer
Information about probate, estates, executors/personal representatives, forms, deadlines, and procedures is general legal information, not legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Laws and procedures vary by state and county and change over time. Consult a licensed attorney for advice about your situation. Contested, insolvent, or complex estates require an attorney.
A-3. Probate/Court Information Disclaimer
The Probate Assistant and related content describe general court procedures and possible paths based on limited inputs. They do not determine your legal obligations, guarantee any outcome, or replace the county probate court’s instructions or an attorney’s judgment. Verify thresholds, forms, and deadlines with the court or an attorney.
A-4. Financial/Tax Disclaimer
Any financial, benefits, budgeting, or tax information is general and educational. HomegoingHQ is not a financial advisor, investment adviser, or tax professional. Consult a qualified professional before making financial or tax decisions.
A-5. Insurance Disclaimer
Any insurance-related information (including life-insurance claim guidance and funding tools) is general and educational. HomegoingHQ is not an insurance company, producer, agent, or adjuster and does not sell, place, or adjust insurance. Coverage, eligibility, and claims are determined solely by the insurer and applicable law. Consult a licensed insurance professional.
A-6. Medical / Mental-Health Disclaimer
HomegoingHQ does not provide medical or mental-health care. Content is not medical advice. In an emergency, call 911. For emotional support, consider 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or a licensed professional.
A-7. Marketplace Disclaimer
Concierges, providers, designers, and partners are independent third parties, not employees or agents of HomegoingHQ. We do not control them or guarantee their services, products, licensing, insurance, or outcomes. Any contract for their services is between you and them. See the Provider Directory / Paid Placement Disclosure.
A-8. “As Is” / Limitation Notice
The Platform and all content and services are provided “as is,” subject to the disclaimers and limitations of liability in the Terms of Service.
PART B — CLICK-THROUGH ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (checkbox/affirmative acceptance; versioned + logged)
Implementation note: Each item below is a discrete, affirmatively-accepted acknowledgment. Where multiple apply at one step, they may be grouped with a single “I have read and agree to the following” and individually enumerated, but sensitive acknowledgments (B-2, B-3, B-9, B-10, B-11) should be separately checkable. Record text, version, timestamp, and account ID.

☐ I have read and agree to the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy.
B-2. AI Disclaimer Acknowledgment (first AI use; re-shown after material change)
☐ I understand the AI Guide provides general information and drafting help, not professional advice, that it can be inaccurate, and that I am responsible for verifying important information. I will not submit information I’m not authorized to share.
B-3. Legal / Probate / Financial / Insurance Information Acknowledgment (first access to probate, ledger, funding, or insurance tools)

☐ I understand a concierge is an independent contractor, not an employee of HomegoingHQ, and that HomegoingHQ is not responsible for the concierge’s services or advice.
B-6. Payment Authorization (at checkout / payment setup)
☐ I authorize HomegoingHQ and its payment processor to charge my selected payment method for the amounts and on the terms shown, including any recurring subscription until I cancel, per the Payment Terms & Authorization and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
B-7. Document Storage Consent (before uploading to the vault / starting Vault Keeper)
☐ I understand documents I upload are stored to provide the service, that storage limits and the Vault Keeper subscription (and any grace period and deletion after lapse) apply as described, and that I am responsible for maintaining my own copies of important documents.
B-8. Electronic Signature & Records Consent (before any e-signature; see separate E-SIGN Consent)
☐ I consent to conduct this transaction electronically and to receive records electronically, per the Electronic Records & Signature Consent (E-SIGN/UETA).

B-11. Release of Liability — Marketplace & Emergency Features (before first provider engagement and when enabling delegated/emergency access)
☐ To the extent permitted by law, I release HomegoingHQ from liability for the acts, omissions, products, and services of independent third-party providers, and I understand delegated/emergency-access features are provided as a convenience without any guarantee of legal sufficiency.
B-12. Print / Order Approval Acknowledgment (before submitting any print or physical-goods order)

☐ I agree to receive service and transactional communications (email, and in-app) necessary to provide the Platform.
B-14. SMS Consent (only if the user provides a mobile number for texts; separate, express opt-in)
☐ I agree to receive text messages from HomegoingHQ at the number provided (service and, if selected, account alerts). Message/data rates may apply; frequency varies; reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See the Communications Consent (TCPA/CAN-SPAM) policy.
B-15. Marketing Consent (optional; unchecked by default)
☐ I’d like to receive occasional marketing emails from HomegoingHQ. I can unsubscribe anytime.
B-16. Data Sharing Consent — Providers You Select (before sharing your info with a chosen provider)
☐ I authorize HomegoingHQ to share the information necessary to fulfill my request with the provider/concierge/designer I select.
